Another Social network? - we asked ourselves when we first considered setting up College Canteen. From then on, which is to say from the very beginning, the focus has been on being innovative, original and unique and on providing the fun of social networking but with a purpose that would help us stand apart from the competition.
It is fun to know who's having a cup of tea and who's just mastered the art of bungee jumping. But, life happens when we are occupied otherwise, apparently. So we decided to make college canteen a fun place for students to come to - a place with the atmosphere and ethos of a college cafeteria, but also a place where serious decisions are made, meaningful relationships are born and creative businesses pursued.
Thanks to the information age, most college students have access to information on further education and careers. However, merely knowing what is available does not help. To be able to access the facilities that are available, students need to connect with the decision makers and prove they deserve to be enlisted. College Canteen is a platform where such networks can be built and students can avail of several different tools of communication to reach out and make a positive impression, be it for higher education or employment.
